Known Facts

  • Growth Points are earned by leveling and spent from the player's room at the Inn (Chest Orb).
  • Strength, Dexterity, Agility, and Intelligence are damage-related stats.
  • Vitality, Endurance, and Mind support HP, stamina/SP behavior, and survivability.
  • Weapon Proficiency grows from using a weapon type and unlocks Sword Skills.
  • Weapon level (Smithy) is separate from Weapon Proficiency.
  • Cardinal Rank affects merchants, Smithy, enemy difficulty, drops, and partner growth.
  • Stamina fuels normal attacks, guarding, parrying, and evasion.
  • SP (skill points) fuel Sword Skills and partner Support Skills; gained through attacking and parrying.
  • HP does not passively regenerate during combat.
  • Some attributes include milestone rewards beyond simple stat scaling.

To Verify In-Game

  • Exact stat scaling per weapon type.
  • Recommended Growth Point paths by weapon.
  • Sword Skill stat requirements if any exist.
  • Exact stamina and SP costs per action type.
  • Whether boss clears grant bonus Growth Points in the final build.

Combat resources

Combat is built around a two-resource loop:

  • Stamina — Spent on light attacks, heavy attacks, guarding, parrying, and evasion. Running out leaves you vulnerable.
  • SP — Spent on Sword Skills and partner Support Skills. Recharges through attacking and successful parries.
  • HP — Does not regenerate naturally in combat. Restore via Healing Crystals, potions, partner healing, or Safety Areas.

How to spend Growth Points

Spend around your weapon's needs: safety (Vitality/Endurance), stamina stability (Mind/Endurance), or damage windows (Strength/Dexterity/Agility/Intelligence). Do not hoard points through major rank increases.

Attribute planning

Build planning should start from weapon behavior, not from a generic damage stat. A shield route can afford slower reads; a no-shield route needs enough stamina and HP to survive recovery mistakes; heavy weapons need reliable windows before investing only in damage. Track attribute breakpoints once final values are verified.

Milestone rewards

Stats appear to matter in two layers: direct scaling and milestone rewards. Track these separately. Vitality should be watched for HP and Healing Crystal power, Endurance for stamina stability, Mind for SP planning, and Dexterity for parry windows or Sword Skill value if final menus confirm those effects.

Cardinal Rank triggers

Rank rises through main quest progress and discovering new towns. When it increases, revisit merchant stock, Smithy recipes, gear upgrades, and partner abilities before pushing harder routes.

Weapon Proficiency vs weapon level

Proficiency unlocks Sword Skills through use. Weapon level at the Smithy raises the item's base power. You can know a weapon's skills and still be underpowered if the item itself is not maintained.
